Description:

The Social Media Specialist will be responsible for creating high-quality, visually compelling content to drive engagement across our social media channels. You will plan, shoot, edit, and post photos and videos, collaborating with the e-commerce and digital media team to align content with the universities brand strategies. This role requires a passion for storytelling, a sharp eye for aesthetics, and a proactive attitude to constantly seek new ways to captivate our audience.

  • Create and edit short-form videos (e.g., Reels, TikToks) and photos that highlight our products, and the SUU community.
  • Collaborate with the e-commerce and digital media team to align social content with product launches, promotions, and campaigns.
  • Plan and execute social media content calendars, including ideation, shooting, editing, and posting.
  • Stay updated on social media trends and incorporate best practices to maximize engagement and reach.
  • Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and interactions to foster community engagement.
  • Work with other departments on campus to coordinate social collaborations as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in photography and experience with short-form video creation, including editing tools like Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or mobile editing apps.
  • Knowledge of social media platforms (especially Instagram, TikTok, Facebook) and a good sense of social trends.
  • Strong visual skills with a keen eye for composition, lighting, and branding.
  • Highly creative, organized, and detail-oriented with the ability to juggle multiple projects.
  • A team player willing to collaborate across departments and bring fresh ideas.
  • An Understanding of social media analytics and algorithms or willingness to learn required.
